Children Can Thrive in the Care of Single Parents

Parents naturally want their children to thrive in their lives, but in challenging situations, knowing how to help them thrive is less clear. We know that children can thrive in safe, stable, nurturing environments and relationships.

This class aims to empower individual parents with information and strategies to provide the necessary support and stability for their children, regardless of the other parent’s efforts.

What is known from the Research

What Children Most Need

To thrive, children need at least one parent who is reasonably well-adjusted, stable and emotionally available; and who provides a safe, secure, supportive, and conflict-free household.

One Parent Can be Enough

Ideally, children would have two healthy parents providing a healthy two-home family life. While it would be ideal, it does not always turn out that way. Know that one healthy parent providing a healthy household can be enough.

Court Ordered or Agency Required Classes
